Silencing of SlMKK2 and SlMKK4 attenuated B. cinerea -induced defense response. Accumulation of H2O2(A) and expression of defense-related genes (B) in the TRV-SlMKK2/4- and TRV-GUS-infiltrated plants in whole plant inoculation assays. Accumulation of H2O2 was detected by DAB staining at 24 hr after inoculation. Gene expression was analyzed by qRT-PCR and relative expression levels were calculated by comparing with the corresponding values at 0 hr (as a control) after inoculation. Data presented in (B) are the means ± SD from three independent experiments and different letters above the columns indicate significant differences at p < 0.05 level.
