Genetic interaction of Ghd7 and Ghd8 contributes to the variation of HD, PH and yield in rice. Heading date (HD, a), plant height (PH, b) and spikelet number per panicle (SNP, c) were scored in the near-isogenic line (NIL)-derived population under natural SD conditions in Hainan (N18.48, E110.02). The open red circle, blue square, and green triangle indicate nonfunctional ghd8, heterozygous, and functional Ghd8, respectively.
