Anthocyanins accumulate in maize BMS35S::R+35S::C1 cells in the dark. (A) Dark-grown BMS35S::R+35S::C1 cells expressing the R and C1 anthocyanin regulators from the CaMV 35S promoter accumulate anthocyanins. Transient expression of the R and C1 regulators in BMS cells by microprojectile bombardment induce anthocyanins in the dark (B) or the light (C). The magnification bars represent 200 μm.
