Spatial and temporal expression of gene transcripts. Total RNA was isolated from litchi plants 80 days after flowering for tissue-specific expression analysis. Transcript abundance was determined using qRT-PCR and was normalized using LcACTIN. Values are the mean ± standard deviation (n = 3) from three separate RNA extractions. Means with the same letter are not significantly different (p < 0.05) among the different tissues (A, B, C, D, and E) and among developmental stages (F, G, H, I, and J).
