Rescue of segregating T 1 immature embryos from two of the four primary transgenics (TG5E01 and TG5E04). Seedling reaction to hygromycin was assessed after germination on hygromycin-containing K4N media for ten days. Hygromycin-resistant plantlets were considered as HPT positive (+), whereas susceptible ones were classified as HPT negative (−). HPT: hygromycin phosphotransferase (conferring hygromycin resistance).
