  1. Absolute numbers and percentages relative to transformation with the control plasmid are given. Control transformation data is given in absolute numbers of hygromycin resistant calluses and percentages of transgenic plants, always relative to the previous step.
  2. *A total of 1200 calluses were transformed with each plasmid in three independent experiments, each including transformation with the control vector. Only hygromycin resistant calluses and plants from different calluses (i.e. independent transformation events) were recorded.
  3. **Only 15 of the 110 control hygromycin resistant calluses were further processed.
