The procedure is slightly different depending on whether the positions of the best two BLAST hits in A. thaliana cDNAs overlap on the Lepidium transcript or not. If the positions of the best two BLAST hits overlap by less than 150 nucleotides, the Lepidium transcript is split in the middle of the overlap. Otherwise, the beginning and end of the involved transcripts was determined based on the total length of the fitting A. thaliana cDNAs
