The results of quantitative RT-PCR were normalized to the GmActin housekeeping gene. The error bars indicated the standard deviations and the values in plots were corresponding to the mean ± standard deviation (SD) of three independent biological replicates. Asterisks demonstrated that the selected GmPME genes were significantly up- or down-regulated compared with those in the dry soybean embryonic axes (* P < 0.05, ** P < 0.01, Student’s t-test)
