Multiple sequence alignment of the tomato Alba proteins. The protein sequences of the SlAlbas were aligned with that of the homolog from the human malaria parasite using Clustal Omega. The secondary structural elements defined by the ESPript 3.0 web server are also displayed above the alignment. The hexapeptide motifs at the beginning of the Alba domains and the tetrapeptide motifs in the first loop, which are critical for DNA binding, are marked by green and orange boxes, respectively.
