Diagram of the strategy for detecting differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Only comparisons of RC and SC, and RI and SI were employed for the data analysis in this study. Data of each comparison from per targeted locus were classified into up- and down- regulated DEGs. Resistant and ‘S’ isolines from different NIL pairs were respectively merged for obtaining expression values by removing values with inconsistent symbols. Specifically, positive numbers will be retained when screening up-regulated DEGs but they will be removed when screening down-regulated ones
