The mean effects in each PC for all samples are represented by black outlines. The blue outlines correspond to the decrease by two standard deviations from the mean, and the red outlines correspond to the increase by two standard deviations. The overlaid outlines with area non-normalized illustrate the effects of each PC on organ shape and size, and the overlaid outlines adjusting to the same area (area-normalized) illustrate the effects on organ shape. The proportion of the variance within the group captured by each PC to the total variance is given as a percentage
