Assessment of Septoria tritici blotch (STB) disease levels on wheat cvs. Stigg and Longbow and Stigg. The 3rd leaf was treated with a suspension of Zymoseptoria tritici spores (or mock Tween20 solution) and after 28 days, a the disease was visualized and b the percentage of the leaf area bearing chlorosis pycnidia was determined. Both cvs. Longbow and Stigg show necrosis of the leaf, but development of pycnidia was significantly higher on Longbow leaves compared to Stigg leaves. Letters above bars indicate homogeneous subsets (bars that do not share a letter are significantly different from each other). Bars indicate SEM, n = 18 (6 per trial)
