A grey line represents the centromere for each chromosome. The left column represents gene models assigned to either Maize1 (red) or Maize2 (blue). In the right column for each chromosome, a green line represents a gene that dominates its homeolog in gene expression by at least 2-fold, averaged across all tissues. There are 831 pairs where the Maize1 gene expressed 2-fold higher, 528 pairs where the Maize2 gene expressed 2-fold higher, and 1905 pairs where neither gene was 2-fold higher than the other
