  1. AD represents the total net carbon accumulation that was calculated by diurnal photosynthesis values, CT represents the transported sugars and was the result of AD minus CA, and CA represents carbon accumulation in certain maize leaves, which was approximately equal to the non-structural carbohydrates (NSC) concentration. Hence, CA was calculated by the sum value of starch and total soluble carbohydrates (TSC). The ratios of transport, accumulation, starch and total soluble carbohydrates participation were summarized.
