Effects of methionine sulfoximine (MSX) on the inhibition of glutamine synthetase (GS) in tea plant. The GS activity was expressed as the absorbance of mg−1 protein·h−1. CK-R/CK-L, roots (R) or leaves (L) of tea plants cultured with nutrient solution without MSX treatment. MSX-R/MSX-L, roots (R) or leaves (L) of tea plants subjected to MSX treatment. The asterisk indicates significant difference between MSX and CK groups of the same tissue (*P < 0.05). For each treatment 3 biological replicates were applied
