Bars represent means ± SE (n = 8 except for 6 for leaf GS and 4 for root GS). Significant differences between Mg-deficient roots and controls were made by unpaired t-test. Four means [two (Mg levels) × two (leaf positions)] were analyzed by two ANOVA followed by Duncan’s new multiple range test.
