Bars represent means ± SE (n = 8 except for 4 for root H2O2 production rate). Significant differences between Mg-deficient roots and controls were made by unpaired t-test. Four means [two (Mg levels) × two (leaf positions)] were analyzed by two ANOVA followed by Duncan’s new multiple range test. Different letters above the bars indicate a significant difference at P < 0.05
