Analysis of E3 ligase activity for selected soybean E3 proteins by in vitro ubiquitination assay. Each of the E3 proteins was tested against active E2s, GmUBC8, GmUBC19 and GmUBC2 in the presence of GmUBA1and ubiquitin as shown in lanes that are labeled as C (complete reaction), GmUBC19 and GmUBC2. The lanes that are marked as -E1, −E2, −E3 and -Ub denote E1, E2, E3 and ubiquitin, respectively was absent in the corresponding reaction. Immunoblot with anti-Ubiquitin antibody (anti-Ub) was performed following in vitro ubiquitination assays. The numbers on the right indicate the molecular masses of marker proteins in kilo-Dalton (kD)
