Quantitative real-time (qRT)-PCR analysis of the relative transcript level of selected genes during early embryo development. Relative expression levels, estimated by the Livak method (2-ΔΔCt), are referred to the developmental stage showing the minimum accumulation for each transcript. Expression values are normalized against two reference genes ELONGATION FACTOR-1 (EF1) and PHOSHOGLUCOMUTASE (PHOS). Transcript levels are means ± SD of three or four biological replicates, with two technical replicates each. Different letters indicate significant differences in the relative expression level (Student’s t-test, P < 0.05)
