Relative yellow pigment content of different mutant genotypes in F2 populations. F2 populations were derived from homozygous non-silent (truncation and missense) mutants crossed with corresponding controls (Jimai 20 or Jimai 22). Data are given as fold measures relative to wild-type genotypes in each F2 population (set to 1). Five biological replicates were performed for each comparison and the data are presented as means ± standard error. Significant differences (Student’s t test) between homozygotes and heterozygotes for the presence of the mutation and wild-type genotypes in each F2 population are represented by one or two asterisks: * P <0.05, ** P <0.01. Hom, homozygous mutants; Het, heterozygous mutants; WT, wild-type genotypes
