Twigs were cut and placed in either tap water (ctr) or jasmonic acid (200 μM) for 18 h. Gene expression was determined by qRT-PCR. Means and standard errors are shown (E. coca, n = 4; E. fischeri, n = 3). The Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test was used to test for statistical significance.
