  1. Overall, 37 immature fruits were collected from 10 date samples. Each fruit was assigned an ID based on a combination of the date sample number and a letter expressing the fruit’s extent of ripening, as judged by eye, relative to the remaining fruits within the sample. It is important to note that these letters are only meaningful within a sample and are not comparable between samples
