RNA transcript levels for the pAMT gene at 25 days after flowering in placental tissues were determined using quantitative RT-PCR (mean ± SE; n = 3). ‘Chosen’ and ‘Gekikara’: pungent pepper cultivars; ‘Nikko’ and ‘Fukumimi’: mildly pungent pepper cultivars; ‘Fushimi’ and ‘Manganji’: nonpungent pepper cultivars.
