Molecular mass estimation of poplar GS holoenzymes. Samples (100 μg) of purified GS2, GS1.1, GS1.2 and GS1.3 native isoenzymes were subjected to Sephacryl S-300 chromatography. The molecular masses were calculated by comparison of the partition coefficient (Kav) of the GS isoenzymes with proteins of known molecular size. The protein standars used to calibrate the column were: Thyroglobulin (669 kDa), Apoferritin (443 kDa), β-Amylase (200 kDa), Alcohol Dehydrogenase (150 kDa), Albumin (66 kDa) and Carbonic Anhydrase (29 kDa).
