From: Isolation and functional characterization of a high affinity urea transporter from roots of Zea mays

Effect of urea treatment on biomass production of Arabidopsis plants grown on 0.5 mM urea. Arabidopsis plants were grown on sterile half strength MS medium supplemented with 1 μM NiCl2 and 50 μM NO3- plus 0.5 mM urea as sole N sources (same growth conditions described for Figure 6b). The fresh weights of 14 plants were measured after 16 days. Data are mean ±SD of three independent experiments and different letters above the bars indicate statistically significant differences (ANOVA, Student-Newman-Keuls, P < 0.05, n=3).
