Expression of starch metabolism genes. Starch metabolic enzymes identified from KEGG were used to identify apple homologues. Where apple array expression varied and gave reliable data the expression pattern was confirmed by qRT-PCR. Of the 15 genes validated, 9 showed very similar patterns of expression in both array and qRT-PCR. A to F, The array data for Rep1 and Rep2 was combined and mean and standard error is plotted (solid lines), qRT-PCR data is shown for each Rep as mean and standard error for qRT-PCR replicates, Rep1 short dashes, Rep2 long dashes.
