  1. Measurements of Total Leaf Area (TLA, cm2), Fresh Weight (FW, mg), Dry Weight (DW, mg), and Relative Water Content (RWC, gWgDW-1), for the esk1-6 mutant line and its wild type genetic background, WS, and the esk1-4 and esk1-5 mutant lines and their wild type genetic background, Col-0. Each measurement was made on plants under monitored control conditions i.e. in the absence of drought constraint. The percentage of each mutant value compared to the value for wild type is given in brackets. SD: Standard Deviation. All the mutant values were significantly different from the wild type values (P < 0.05).
