Northern analysis of flavonoid biosynthetic genes show no alterations in the steady-state mRNA levels induced by light in BMS35S::R+35S::C1 cells. Total RNA from dark- (D) and light-grown (L) control BMS and BMS35S::R+35S::C1 cells were analyzed by Northern with probes corresponding to the c2 (chalcone synthase), f3h (flavanone 3-hydroxylase) and a1 (dihyroflavonol 4-reductase) genes. Ubiquitin (ubq) was used as a normalizing control. The numbers indicate the relative hybridization signal (in arbitrary units) obtained with each probe, normalized for the corresponding signal obtained with ubq.
