qRT-PCR expression profiling of marker genes for Pi starvation in Arabidopsis seedlings grown hydroponically. Expression profiling of A) transcriptional modulators and genes involved with root meristem growth and B) Pi signaling and recycling. Arabidopsis seedlings were grown for 21 days under two different Pi regimens (-P = 10 μM Pi, +P = 1.25 mM Pi). RNA of whole seedlings was extracted at six time points and gene expression levels were analyzed by qRT-PCR assays. Relative quantification number (RQ) was obtained from the equation (1 + E)2^∆∆CT where ∆∆CT represents ∆CT(-P)–∆CT(+P), and E is the PCR efficiency. C_T value was previously normalized using the expression levels of ACT2, PPR and UBHECT as internal reference. Data presented are means ± SE of three biological replicates (n = 100-150).
