The data from the different experiments in this work are included: sun light exposition (open circles), dark-dehydration (close circles), dark-immersion (close squares), dark-incubation in anoxia (close triangles), dark-incubation at high temperature (close diamonds). Each point represents the mean (n = 5). The fit (r2 = 0.833) to a linear regression model (solid line) and the 95% confidence intervals (dashed lines) are presented (regression is significant at P <0.001). Although showed in the figure, data from the high temperature-treatment were excluded for the regression analysis since it induced irreversible damage on thalli.
