(B)-(D) Northern blots of 23 S (B), 4.5 S (C), and 16 S (D) rRNAs. Total leaf RNAs were extracted from three-week-old plants grown under the same conditions as shown in Figure 1A. Equal amounts of RNA (3 μg) were loaded onto each lane of the gel. After electrophoresis and transfer, nylon membranes were hybridized with ³²P labeled rRNA gene-specific probes as indicated in (A).
