Selection of transgenic HD1 plants. Potato plant transformed with pHD1-BinAR construct carrying a cDNA for human dopamine receptor under the control of the CaMV 35S promoter (A) were selected by northern blot analysis (B). Lines showing the highest expression were further submitted to western blot analysis. For this purpose proteins were extracted with 0.1% or 1% Triton (C) and 50 μg of protein extract was run on 12% SDS polyacrylamide gel. D refers to control plants, numbers to different transgenic lines and S to Full Range Rainbow Molecular Weight Marker RPN 800 (Amersham Bioscience).
